The following courtesy shuttles are provided at no cost to Denali visitor’s by Doyon/ARAMARK Joint Venture, Denali National Park and Preserve’s authorized concessionaire.
Riley Creek Loop Shuttle
From May 15th until September 15th, this bus departs approximately every 20 minutes from every entrance area bus stop inside the park. It services the Denali Visitor Center Campus (which includes the Denali Visitor Center, Morino Grill, Denali Bookstore and Baggage Storage), Train Depot, Wilderness Access Center, Riley Creek Mercantile, Riley Creek Campground and the Murie Science and Learning Center. The Riley Creek Loop bus is the way to get you around the Denali National Park Entrance Area.
Sled Dog Demonstration Bus
Because of the extremely limited parking, this bus service provides all transportation to NPS Headquarters for the Sled Dog Demonstration. During the peak season, there are three programs daily: 10am, 2pm and 4pm. Buses depart from the Denali Visitor Center Campus bus stop no later than 40 minutes before the demonstration and will return you to the same location after the program. Many lodges provide courtesy buses to the Denali Visitor Center Campus in time for the connection to the demonstration. The 2pm program is the most popular and bus seats fill up fast, so if you are really keen to see this program, it is recommended that you try to attend the 10am or 4pm programs. Shoulder season programs vary – check back in May for summer schedules.
Savage River Shuttle
The Savage River is a 2-hour roundtrip from the park entrance to the Savage River day use area at Mile 15 on the Park Road. Walking trails, hiking and great views of the Outer and Alaska Ranges make this a great place to go if you want to get out into the park but don’t have a lot of time. Parking is extremely limited, so we encourage people to take this bus. The Savage River Shuttle departs hourly in both directions during peak season (June 8 – Aug 20) from the Wilderness Access Center and on a limited schedule before and after these dates.
