Located 1.5 miles inside Denali National Park on the Park Road, the Wilderness Access Center is the departure point for all shuttle buses and for tour passengers specifically ticketed to depart from here. The WAC is also a place to make shuttle, campground or tour reservations. |
The Wilderness Access Center is a stop on the Denali Natural History Tour for a viewing of the film “Across Time and Tundra”. This 20-minute short film features excerpts on the early visitors in the new Mt. McKinley National Park. The Taiga Bean Coffee Shop serves up Alaskan owned, shade-grown, fair trade, Kaladi Brothers Coffee and other grab-n-go snacks. For those who need something more substantial – box lunches can also be purchased here. The Tundra Browse is a small camper store / gift shop for any last minute needs prior to heading out in the back country or day trip on a shuttle bus. Raingear, sweatshirts, boots, sunglasses, etc. can all be found here. |
