Teklanika RV & Campground

Teklanika RV & Campground

Operating Dates

  • June 16 - September 22, 2020

Located beyond Savage River at Mile 29 of the Denali Park Road, Teklanika RV & Campground provides a unique park experience for those wanting more time in the park and a truly remote camping experience among the backdrop of Cathedral Mountain and Teklanika River. Because the Teklanika Campground is located within the restricted section of Denali Park Road, there is a minimum 3-night stay for anyone wishing to drive his or her RV or private vehicle to this campground. This rule does not apply during the Denali Road Lottery, typically held annually in mid-September. Once parked at your campsite, all travel must be on foot or by shuttle bus until you depart. So be sure to bring everything you need to make your stay an enjoyable one.

RV, Trailer & Tow Regulations

Recreational Vehicle (RV), Car/Truck/Trailer Information – The maximum length of an individual RV or camper-trailer is 40'. The combined length of a vehicle and trailer combination may exceed 40', but each individual vehicle component (e.g., the truck or trailer) may not exceed 40' on its own.

A trailer in tow must be integral to the camping experience. An example of a permitted combination would be a truck pulling a camper-trailer. Conversely, a car being towed behind an RV would not be considered integral, and therefore the car must be left at the park entrance (parking is free of charge). Ask at the Denali Visitor Center where overnight parking is permitted.
